Be Truthful Patient & Kind
Cheerfully Try Hard
FOUNDED BY THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND IN 1722
We welcome children aged 2 to 3 years to our Buttons Nursery. Buttons Nursery has its own purpose-built building with a newly refurbished early years playground
The Pre-Prep Department looks after children aged 3 to 7 years beginning with entry to Transition at the age of 3 years. We have two Pre-Prep buildings which benefit from a library, gymnasium, music and ICT room.
In the Prep Department we move to 4-form entry and welcome many new pupils to The Blue Coat School. The children become increasingly independent, moving around the campus and using specialist facilities including the Science Lab, Art and DT Studios, the ICT Suite and Music Centre. The House system begins and forms a very special part of daily life as the children spend time in their Houses before and after school.

At The Blue Coat School, our vision for Sport is to offer pupils a broad, balanced programme which is tailored to each individual and prepares children for a lifelong involvement in sport through a culture that promotes sporting excellence.
The Blue Coat School provides a stimulating environment and a wide variety of opportunities and experiences. We aim to nurture well-rounded, confident and articulate young men and women. The individual gifts of your child will be encouraged and celebrated within a community based on Christian values. All staff actively promote the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
We welcome children from the age of 2 years to Buttons Nursery. Three-form entry in Pre-Prep moves to four-form entry in Prep, allowing for an intake into Year 3 at the age of 7 years. Entry to Prep is determined by an Entrance Test. Scholarships and means-tested Bursaries are available to internal and external candidates for entry to Year 3 each September.
