Welcome Mr and Mrs Neeson, Beatrice and Jasper

“Mr Neeson, as you take up office in this school,
May the Lord give you wisdom, courage, patience and love to do His will;
May the Lord help you to discern and grow the gifts He has given you for this work,
And the blessing of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit be upon you now and for evermore.”

These words were prayed by Bishop David Urquhart (our school President) in response to Mr Neeson’s promise to accept the responsibility of serving and caring for our school community in his role as our new Headmaster.

As Staff, children, governors, parents and friends alike we promised to play our part in supporting and encouraging Mr Neeson in the days that lie ahead.

Our School Officers, Hasan (Head boy), Maya (Head Girl), Henry (Deputy Head Boy) and Monique (Deputy Head Girl) with the help of four Pre Prep children, Mia, Wilf, Lucia and Theo, presented Mr and Mrs Neeson with four Blue Coat symbols: symbols that are a reminder of the foundations of our school:

A Bible – to live and speak the truth of God’s ways.

An iPad – to inspire the love of learning and to help us to explore and understand the greatness of God’s world.

Our four House badges – to nurture and celebrate our God-given gifts and talents.

A Chapel collection bag – to serve others and share generously with those in need.

A lit candle, presented to Mrs Neeson by Mrs Andrews, was a clear reminder of the love, care and support we know Mrs Neeson will give to our Blue Coat family.

A special thank you to the Chapel Choir, Mr Nicklin and Mr Hardy for the singing of two beautiful anthems, “Sing Praise and Thanksgiving.” (Malcolm Arnold) and “A prayer of Saint Richard of Chichester.” Our new choristers have arrived in style!

Thank you to everyone who attended and made this service such a memorable and moving occasion.
Welcome “Team Neeson!”

Together, with God’s help
We will Grow in Grace
