This week in RM, Elmer the Patchwork elephant came to visit one of the lessons. He had got himself into a muddle and he had written a letter to the class asking if the children could make patterns using the dinosaurs he had sent. The children enjoyed this problem-solving activity and they came up with lots of different ways to make patterns to help Elmer.

The second part of the lesson consisted of the children working in pairs outdoors. Elmer had set the children different challenges. The children were able to participate in a variety of activities where they made patterns using 2,3, and 4 colours. They also made patterns using different sized objects. The children had great fun!

RM are hoping that Elmer will return again with different problem solving activities with which he will require help.
