Continuing with the theme of welcoming majestic Scots to Blue Coat this term, Year 5 pushed the boat out and welcomed a whole group of them. On Wednesday we were delighted to receive The Young Shakespeare Company and witness their mesmerising performance of Macbeth.

The school hall was transformed into the wilds of the Scottish moors, Great Birnam Wood and High Dunsinane Hill, as Macbeth’s ill-fated journey from a brave and loyal soldier to a murderous King was revealed.

This classic tale of greed, ego, ambition and morality has given our Year 5 children much to think about as they embark on an exciting two-week study of the play.
