During Science this half term the children in Pre-Prep have been learning about ‘Ourselves and Other Animals’. There have been lots of opportunities for speaking and listening and working together in groups, both of which the children have embraced with enthusiasm!

We have labelled parts of our bodies and made observations about how animals, including humans, change as they grow. This led to some interesting discussions about how some animals, such as butterflies and frogs, completely change as they grow.

There was an exciting opportunity for the children to explore the five senses with a carousel of activities for each sense. The most popular activity was the tasting activity where children tasted sweet chocolate, salty crisps and sour lemons! During an investigation into height and age we discovered that the oldest people in our class are not always the tallest (with the exception of the teachers!)
