Henry in Year 3 is very excited to hear that he is a competition winner!

He will soon be receiving a set of Flying Fergus paperback books signed by Sir Chris Hoy MBE. The series for 8 to 11 year olds, and written by the decorated Olympian, is based around the character Fergus Hamilton, a 9 year-old boy with a love of cycling and an extraordinary imagination. Fergus and his friends travel back and forth to a parallel universe called Nevermore, where cycling is banned and his dad is trapped by an evil King.

Henry entered the Flying Fergus Competition during the summer with a piece about his own imaginary place called Alienvania, where aliens live and work amongst alien-eating plants, solar-powered farms and factories making spaceships! Sir Chris loved his ideas and he was chosen as one of three junior winners.  Mr Neeson presented Henry with a certificate of commendation for his great writing.

Henry’s fantastic prize is a personal set of signed books and additional sets for the rest of his class, the Houses and School libraries. Happy reading everyone!
