A heartfelt thank you, to everyone involved in our Remembrance Service. It was a very moving and solemn occasion for our school family as we spent time remembering and honouring those who, throughout history, have given their lives in the service of others. We prayed too for those who continue to give their lives to protect freedom and peace.
We were delighted to welcome parents Flight Lieutenant Holland and Dr Kay to lead our poppy wreath procession. Reverend Tucker (also a parent) spoke very movingly about the tomb of the unknown soldier, reminding us that this young man’s sacrifice was a reflection of the great sacrifice Jesus has made for each one of us. True loved indeed!
A special thank you to Maya and Hasan for their sensitive reading of our poem,“In Flanders Fields.” and to Monique and Henry for leading our prayers so well.
Maya and Rufus’ solo voices in our anthem “For the Fallen” were exquisite and they are to be commended for such a pure and beautiful sound. Thank you especially to Mr Nicklin, the Chapel Choir, Mr Hardie and Mr James Docherty (our trumpeter) for providing music of such quality.
Finally a thank you to Mrs Lynn and Mrs Lambert-Green for the appearance of our beautiful ceramic poppies: reminders of the love that, in the darkest of nights, shines all the brighter.
Thank You
