Ask any Year 4 what they learned at Monday’s Aztec Morning and you might be surprised at some of the replies!
For instance, did you know that they played a ball game where you were only allowed to use your hips? Or that naughty Aztec boys had to sleep outside with no clothes on, whilst girls had to sweep the house for hours? Perhaps worst of all was the fact that no one under the age of 52 was allowed to have chocolate!

These fascinating facts, along with many more, gave us a real insight into the daily lives of this Mexican civilization. With the help of stunning computer graphics, a wide array of artefacts and the real-life sound of Aztec musical instruments, not to mention the chance to dress up in feathers and cloaks, the children were also able to experience the thrill of participating in an Aztec ceremony to the Sun god, Huitzilopochtli.

He may not have been much in evidence in Birmingham recently, but the visit from the Mexicolore company will be remembered for a long time by our pupils!
