The children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have been busy thinking about themselves – not just what they want for Christmas though! They have been considering how they think and behave and how they can improve themselves in certain areas. The children have been completing ‘My Skills Set’ self-assessments as part of their Personal, Social and Emotional Development (Reception) and in Personal, Social and Health Education lessons (Years 1 and 2).

They have thought about their skills in forming relationships, communicating with others, managing their emotions, assessing what is right and what is wrong and how to make the right choices. The children rated their achievements in these skills at the beginning of the term and will re-assess them at the end of the term, once they have had time to reflect and work on those skills they felt they needed to improve upon.

The children have worked hard to understand how to self-assess and how to improve upon their skills set to help them become better individuals.

Well done, everyone – keep up the good work.
