On the 19th and 20th November Maia competed at the Boldmere Open Swimming Meet, a high level competition attended by clubs from all over the region. Maia swims for the City of Birmingham swim team: a high-performance elite swim squad.
She swam in a total of 8 events, covering all 4 strokes and over a variety of distances. She managed to achieve Gold medals in every one of these events. Maia also achieved a number of Regional Qualifying times– thus allowing her to compete in the Midlands Championships next year. She is also now the fastest 10 year old over the 100m freestyle in Great Britain…!!
