5H’s assembly on Wednesday  this week lit a flame of excitement and vision as we heard about the power of light over darkness. Just one small flame can light up a whole room in the same way that just one small act of kindness can bring light to the darkness of someone’s life.

We enjoyed the dramatic re-telling of the story of blind Bartimaeus, in which Jesus lived up to his name, “I am the Light of the World.” As his sight returned, the blind beggar gave thanks to the one who had healed him.

There was an opportunity for us all to take part in the singing of the final song, “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine!” complete with sign language!

Thank you, Mrs Tucker for giving up your time to come and teach us what to do!  It was a brilliant way to finish the assembly and we all left feeling very uplifted and ready to shine kindness, thoughtfulness and care into the lives of those around us.

Thank you, 5H.
