Hundreds of red-nosed children and staff invaded the school hall this morning for our Blue Coat family Red Nose Day assembly.

The girls and staff of St Margaret’s House led the assembly, filling it with fun and laughter for all ages….Buttons right through to Year 6.

Here is a a taste of their Red Nose jokes:

Question: Why did Mr Wurr come as a sheriff to the Red Nose Day fancy dress party?
Answer: He’s the Deputy!

Or

Our music teacher Mr Nicklin and DT teacher Mrs Lynn have been sponsored to build pianos
So far they have made a grand!

Having started with a brilliant show-stopping House Red Nose dance, we were delighted to watch the Pick Your Teacher’s Nose competition… really Mrs Lynn!

Four heavily disguised members of staff made quite an entrance (see photos) and waited for their identification to be revealed. Thanks to the clues given, we were able to identify Mr Hill, Mrs Jefferson, Miss Keeber and Mr Darby.

Amid the laughter and fun …including foam pies, the important lesson of Red Nose Day shone through. Listening to the story of Ikmatu from Sierra Leone, we were reminded that we can all give to others if we set our hearts and minds to it! Ikmatu helped to transform her community through her hard work and dedication to cleaning the streets and telling others how to prevent the spread of disease through better hygiene.

Thank you St Margaret’s for a magnificent assembly and thank you everyone, for your donations towards Red Nose Day.
