Year 6 embarked upon their Titanic presentation on Thursday of this week. Their summer term project was launched by visiting speaker, Andrew Lound, who spoke eloquently and movingly about the construction, interior, sailing and the sinking of this fateful ship on its maiden voyage to New York.
In this, their final work in English before setting sail for secondary schools, Year 6 will be working hard on their projects, putting all their English skills to the test. Through reading research and testimonies, collating information, studying fiction and non-fiction texts and debating, they will write recounts, poems, stories, diaries, newspaper articles, reports, letters, postcards and much more, whilst deciding how to present their work professionally in their scrapbooks. We are all looking forward to seeing the work they produce.
