On Wednesday 24th May – a beautiful, sunny day – three classes of very excited Reception, and equally excited adults, went to West Midlands Safari Park.

We saw lots of interesting animals during the drive-through safari, including white lions and tigers, zebras, elephants and giraffes. After enjoying a picnic lunch, we went on to explore other creatures such as penguins, lorikeets, bats, snakes, crocodiles and tarantulas. We even encountered some moving, roaring dinosaurs – but don’t worry, we could roar just as loudly as they could!

We enjoyed a classroom session learning about dinosaurs and we were able to hold a Madagascan hissing cockroach! There was just time for a quick visit to the hippos before boarding the coach back to school – a much quieter return trip with several sleeping passengers. Thanks to the accompanying staff for their hard work.
