As the UK went to the polls to decide the next government, Blue Coat children were voting in their own election. The crucial decision? Not the political future of the school campus, but something far more important: the next Theme Day in the Dining Room! Pupils across the school voted between four appealing “parties”: hot dogs, build-a-burger, pizza or kebab wraps. Pupils enjoyed getting their ballot paper and remembering to put a cross (not a tick!) in the box of their choice, before posting it into a ballot box. There was even some vociferous canvassing – mainly from the Year 6 Burger Party!
On Friday morning, the School Council counted the votes and, whilst more junior members of the constituency (Pre-Prep!) supported Pizza, the overall democratic decision was in favour of Build-a-Burger.
Many thanks to Mr Gladwin and our caterers, who will now be arranging our very special Theme Day in two weeks time.
