Back in February we received our blank Big Sleuth bear statue. Since then, the whole school has been involved in designing and creating this ‘bear-illiant’ design which includes a beautiful waistcoat made up of hexagonal designs by the children and staff and with a collar of bees, a ladybird and a caterpillar contributed by Pre-Prep and Buttons. Our brilliantly named, Bluey Bearnard, has inspired the children to raise money for the Children’s Hospital and all the children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 took part in a sponsored bounce in May.

Bluey made the short journey into the Children’s Hospital on Wednesday to be reunited with all the other bears and to be photographed for the official brochure. He will then move on to spend the summer in Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery with 20 other school bears. The trail starts on Monday 12 July and will last for 10 weeks so please go and visit him! The trail includes around 100 smaller school bears like ours, and around 100 large bears in and around Birmingham, Sandwell, Solihull and Sutton Coldfield. Bluey will be back with us permanently in September.
