“Clank”, “Beep”, “Clunk” … these were the sorts of noises coming from Pre-Prep this week as the children enjoyed a very special Robot Theme Week.

High Impact Consultancy launched the week on Monday by bringing along their electronic friends: BB-8, Dash and Nao- a humanoid robot! Each class enjoyed a session with the robots where they learned how to control the robots by giving commands and watched-on amazed as the robots walked, talked and even danced!

Other activities during the week included: designing and creating junk model robots in DT; robot poetry; learning about the history of robots; inventing robots such as the ‘CLEAN-BOT’ ‘BOOK-BOT’ and ‘COOK-BOT’ (my personal favourite) and demonstrating the best robot moves in PE.

The children thoroughly enjoyed Theme Week and they certainly learned a lot. Let’s hope they’re not ready to replace their teachers with robots just yet!
