U9A Rounders v Hallfield (A)
Tuesday 27 June
Blue Coat 15.5 – 8 Hallfield
Most Valued Players: Storm Henshaw- fielding, Maya Hart- Batting

An excellent end to the season and a fantastic win!  The girls have really developed and progressed this season and have become a well organised team. They field well and are quick to get the ball to the post. In the second inning they put on a great batting display, hitting the ball way out of the diamond to score.
Well done girls: a great season.

Scorers: Maya Hart (3), Daphne Xuan (2), Bea Neeson (2),

U9B Rounders v Hallfield (A)
Tuesday 27 June
Blue Coat 13 – 12 Hallfield
Most Valued Player: Gracie Roberts

The team were excited for their last match against local rivals Hallfield. We lost the toss and so had to bat first and Mrs Bennett was really impressed with their ability to strike the ball. and Enya started off the scoring with the first full rounder. We went into field having scored 8 rounders total and were making silly mistakes and decision were taking too long and Hallfield were scoring from our fielding errors. we finished the first innings on 8-8. With all to bat for we batted again and Lily started strong with the first bowl and an half rounder. We finished the batting with 5 scored. After a brief tactical discussion we did our best to stop Hallfield scoring and the dream team triangle started to work their magic from Mahshami, Lily and Chloe it all started to come together. Gracie let nothing past her in the infielding position and with swift underarm throwing we won the match. An excellent finish to a great rounders season!

Scorer: Lily (1), Mahshami (1.5) Enya (2), Gracie (.5) Emma (1.5), Matilda (1), Chloe (1), Lauren (1.5), Ishani (2.5)

U9B Cricket v RGS The Grange (H)
Tuesday 27 June
Result: Blue Coat 243 – 2, RGS The Grange 252 – 3
Most Valued Player: The whole team focused well on their bowling. Narayan Dhillon punished the leg side ball well.

Blue Coat batted first and struggled to beat the RGS fielders. They managed a modest total of 243 but to their credit lost very few wickets. In reply, RGS got off to the worst possible start, losing early wickets but gradually recovered to leave the game in the balance with 6 overs to go. Their final two pairs batted extremely well to go beyond Blue Coat’s total and win narrowly, despite Blue Coat having late wicket-taking opportunities to nick a victory. A really enjoyable game of cricket.

U9A Cricket v RGS The Grange (H)
Tuesday 27 June
RGS 278-3 – 229-4 Blue Coat
Most Valued Player: Dhruv Susarla’s footwork was fantastic to hit the gaps when batting

RGS The Grange came with a strong side and found hitting boundaries comfortable. Blue Coat improved their accuracy of bowling with far fewer wides, making the batsmen play.  279 was a tall ask and we never really got going until the final pair. More confidence when running and cleaner ball striking is required to compete. Dhruv set a good example of hitting the ball into gaps well, scoring four 4s in total.

Scorers: Ehsan Ali 2 overs, 2-12, Dhruv Susarla 16 batting runs

U8 A Rounders v Winterfold (A)
Thursday 29 June
Result: Blue 15 – 12.5 Winterfold
Most Valued Player: Indira Singh

With the weather turning, the match had to be moved inside to Winterfold’s sports hall. With a mocked out pitch we did our best to field and make the right choices. With Indira accurately bowling and some swift fielding and stumping from Jaya, we had them out for 7.5. We started off with our batting and Indira scored her first Rounder from the first bowl; this was closely followed by Emily scoring half. Our batting continued to be strong and I couldn’t believe how strong the girls were at hitting. We went into the second innings with a good lead and so had to keep their score down. With Maysoon and Priyam getting into good fielding positions we were building as a team. Again we got them out quite convincingly, scoring 12.5 rounders in total. We batted again, and with victory being close, we stayed focused on the task. With further excellent rounders from Indira and Glory the girls won the match 15 – 12.5. A great batting game!

Scorers: Indira (3), Emily (1.5), Sofia (2.5), Jaya (1.5), Zunaira (1), Ishani (1), Glory (1.5), Priyamvada (1)

U8A Cricket v West House (H)
Thursday 29 June
Result: Blue Coat 250 – 290 Eversfield
Most Valued Player: Saif Babar for excellent bowling and batting

In a game played in wet and windy conditions the U8A’s acquitted themselves well against a strong Eversfield side. There was some excellent bowling initially, with Saif Babar bowling some excellent leg breaks. Milo Dowling also showed real potential as a bowler with a nice smooth action. However, as a team we did bowl too many wides and this was probably the main difference in the scores. Freddy Williams and Will Smallwood showed promise with the bat but as a batting unit we must learn to run better between the wickets. Overall a promising start to their cricket career at Blue Coat.

U8B Cricket v West House (H)
Thursday 29 June
West House 290-4, Blue Coat 275-6
Most Valued Player: Nayan Najran and Freddie Trevis bowled superb first overs

We were unfortunate to get the brunt of a typical English summer’s day with continuous drizzle. However an electric start by Blue Coat, took a wicket with the first ball. Blue Coat bowled with varied success but every pupil engaged in superb fielding and wicket-keeping duties. The batting did get harder for Blue Coat when we moved to the outfield and the ball didn’t bounce so high, however Vinay Ratti and Rayyan Ali managed to connect with some lovely shots and they ran well between the wickets.
