On Friday 15th September, Year 3 were invaded by Roman Soldiers! They were drilled by the Centurion and shown what they would be expected to wear as a soldier and the amazing benefits of joining the Roman Army; they could even bring their friends! Shields were used to train for defence and attack and the importance of team work and discipline was emphasised.

The children also discovered what life was like off the battlefield and how the Romans influenced many parts of modern life; they were particularly interested in the Roman toilets and underfloor heating!

It was a highly educational and fun day. Thank you for asking such brilliant questions Year 3!
