This week some of our language learners have been treated to some delicious food tasting, provided by our catering staff. Year 1 and 2 after school Spanish clubs tried some traditional Spanish foods such as cured meats, olives, pan rustico, and the very popular Catalan chicken stew which went down very well indeed. Although some were not so keen on the olives, many were brave enough to try and they had plenty of opportunities to practise their language skills, with ‘no me gustan las olivas’ (I don’t like olives) and ‘me gusta el pan’ (I like bread) being some phrases that were repeated quite a few times!

The Year 5 and 6 Italian TED group were also in for a treat with some Italian food tasting on Friday afternoon. On the menu there was pizza, olives, parmesan cheese, prosciutto, and tortellini. Everyone was in agreement with the phrase ‘mi piace la pizza’ (I like pizza.)
