‘The October Revolution Centenary: History in Perspective.’

We are delighted that Dr E.A. Rees, a Reader in History at the University of Birmingham will be joining us on the evening of Tuesday 7th November from 7pm to 8pm in the Board Room. Dr Rees will be delivering a lecture marking the 100 years since the Russian Revolution.

The October Revolution led to the collapse of an empire under Tsar Nicholas II and the rise of communism under Lenin and his Bolsheviks. Dr Rees will provide an overview of the events that led to the revolution itself, as well as exploring the impact of this revolution on Russia and the wider world.

I will be covering the October Revolution with Year 6 earlier in the day as part of their Humanities curriculum. Although the event is primarily aimed at adults, Year 6 pupils are most welcome to attend.
