U8A Football v Warwick and Crackley Hall
Date: Thursday 16th November
Result: Warwick 1 – 0 BCS, BCS 4 – 1 Crackley Hall
Most Valued Player: Jai Lewis for outstanding teamwork and game awareness
Report: On a fine Thursday afternoon the U8s made the long trip to Warwick for a triangular festival. Both games were keenly contested on very large pitches. The boys worked hard in both showing great determination and were unlucky to lose to Warwick 1 -0. As a team though we need to be more aware of space and how to get the ball into space. Jai Lewis was again the standout performer in this regard.

U10A Rugby v Solihull
Date: Monday 20th November
Result: BCS 6 -4 Solihull
Most Valued Player: Oliver Smith for recovering form injury and showing real determination
Report: On a damp and wet afternoon at Blue Coat the U10A team served up a cracking end to end game of rugby. The boys took on board many of the lessons about support play and tackling and showed real heart and determination to come from 2-0 behind. The strong running of AY and Ashley Jindu was matched by the fleet footed William Brett and Felix Ilif. Both James Scurlock and Luca Romano made tackle after tackle to repel the Solihull attacks. Oliver Smith showed real resilience to come back from a cut on his knee and showed real passion and huge improvement in his running with the ball. The whole team tried to offload the ball and keep the ball alive which was a real testament to their endeavour in tricky circumstances, but the most pleasing thing was to see how they stuck together with no blaming others if a mistake was made. A great team effort well done!

U10C Rugby v Solihull
Date: Monday 20th November
Result: BCS 5 – 6 Solihull
Most Valued Player: A number of the team played well. Several were aggressive in their tackling whilst others always sought to run forward and find spaces.
Report: Blue Coat began slowly by conceding an early try but responded superbly well with 3 unanswered tries of their own. Solihull came back strongly in the middle third of the game again scoring 3 unanswered tries. The final third was very even with Solihull seeking to maintain their lead whilst Blue Coat had plenty of possession to try and equalise. Solihull extended their lead with a further try before Blue Coat responded with another try and could have levelled the scores with the final play of the game but failed to ground the ball properly to narrowly lose 6 tries to 5.

U9A Rugby v Solihull
Date: Tuesday 21st November
Result: BCS 7-5 Solihull
Most Valued Player: Vinay Ratti for his fantastic tackling throughout the game
Report: In probably the best U9 game of rugby I have seen, the team put in a fantastic performance filled with superb tackling, excellent support play and superb evasion to narrowly win a very close encounter. Both teams should be immensely proud of spectacle they put on for the parents and staff lucky enough to watch it. All players deserve a huge amount of credit for the level of commitment and bravery they displayed, however special mention must go to Vinay for his fantastic tackling knocking over the strong solihull runners with some bone crunching tackles. One try epitomised the great work ethic the team has with most players touching the ball in a sweeping move that finished off with a fantastic team try scored by Freddie Trevis. Well done to all involved!

Date: Tuesday 21st November
Result: BCS 15 – 11 Solihull
Most Valued Player: Richard Mahlberg-Schilling for great evasion skills
Report: In a keenly contested game the U9B team showed great resilience to overcome an early deficit to win against a strong Solihull side. Raihan Ahmed scored a number of tries with some bullocking runs and Richard Mahlberg-Schilling displayed great evasion skills. However the real strength was in the effort and never-say-die attitude the team demonstrated.

Date: Tuesday 21st November
Result: Blue Coat 14 Solihull 5
Most Valued Player: Very hard to isolate a player for such a fantastic team performance.
Report: If your eyes would deceive you, you’d have thought this was an A team display. In testing wet conditions, Blue Coat played with passion, speed and determination. Twice Blue Coat got to the 6 tackle target to turn the ball over. Then our running was electric, finding space early and opening up their legs. The unsung hero was Temi Adenopo who for countless tries was the support runner, keeping up with the ball carrier. A real mature and exhilarating performance shown by the U9s!

Date: Monday 20th November
Result: BCS 1-1 Solihull
Most Valued Player: Maya Hart
Report: Wow what a match! I am loving watching this team develop and grow in confidence and play with speed and passion to win. Maya’s distribution of the back from defence was quite magnificent which put us on the attack from several dead balls. Bea’s constant support of defence and attacking play was exemplary and she played with passion. Both Lexie and Storm on the wings ran their hearts out. Tara did excellently to score, and there was a wonderful team goal with Matilda chasing down balls forwards in the first half. After an initial mistake Kate kept us in the game by stopping some strong shots. When both Natasha and Ojal stepped up they did not look out of place in what has developing into a strong squad with depth and quality.

U11 A Rugby v Solihull A/B
Date: Wednesday 22 November
Result: BCS 0-2 Solihull, BCS 3-1 Sollihull
Most Valued Player: Michael Draper- fantastic work rate in attack and defence
Report: On a late Wednesday afternoon Blue Coat travelled to Solihull to play 2 fixtures againsts a Solihull combined A/B team. In the first match we had a lot of possession but were too greedy and took the ball into contact far too often when there was space out wide. Solihull had some strong runners and passed the ball out wide and ran in 2 good tries to win the game. The second game was a completely different match. The boys played some of the best rugby I have seen them play this season. They ran hard at the defender but looked for the space and gave the pass to put a team mate into space. One try stands out which involved every member of the team. The ball started deep in our defensive half and traveled the width of the pitch and back the other way to score in the corner – an excellent team try and a well deserved victory.

U11B Rugby v Solihull U11C
Date: Wednesday 22 November
Most Valued Player: It is hard to isolate a player with every member of the team contributing to the win by either making tackles or passing the ball to create space for others.
Report: The score was not kept but had it been Blue Coat would have won comfortably. This was a confidence boosting victory for the team who all played their part in a successful afternoon. Several boys showed good evasive skills running with the ball. Others offloaded well out of the tackle whilst there was a whole team improvement with tackling or stopping their opponent. Well done to the team in difficult weather conditions.
