U9A Hockey v King’s Hawford
Date: Tuesday 28th November

Result: BCS 3-3 King’s Hawford
Most Valued Player: Emily Whitehouse
Report: As this was the final ‘A’ team fixture of the term, the girls were really determined in the build up to the game as they looked to complete an ‘unbeaten’ season. However, the King’s Hawford girls looked very composed on the ball early in the game and dominated possession. BCS were 2-0 down at the end of the first half and, despite giving 100%, it always looked tough to come back. Yet, this group of girls have been amazing all season and the second half was reminiscent of the 2005 Champions League Final between Liverpool and AC Milan. Emily Whitehouse was our very own Steven Gerrard, inspiring the side as they clawed the game back to 2-2. With only 2 minutes remaining, King’s Hawford appeared to have secured victory with a seemingly decisive third goal, but with seconds remaining Sofia Phillips completed a brilliant hat-trick to end the game as a thrilling 3-3 draw. No penalty shoot out to write about like that famous night in Istanbul but one that the crowd will remember for years I’m sure. The girls are still developing their skills, and definitely need to improve their first touch and passing, but their determination can not be faulted – Well done!
Scorer: Sofia Phillips x 3

U9B Hockey v King’s Hawford
Date: Tuesday 28th November
Result: BCS 0-4 King’s Hawford
Most Valued Player: Priyam Agarwal
Report: You would expect that a 3.00pm push back on a bitterly cold November afternoon would not lead to the greatest of hockey matches. However, this side have not played a game for a couple of weeks and the excitement of a competitive fixture led to a great performance against the King’s Hawford ‘A’ side. Great periods of the game were spent tackling and defending but all of the team did this with great pride and passion. Also, it was very pleasing that there were improvements in their positional play. Well done, girls.

There were wins against RGS, The Grange, The Elms, King’s St Alban’s, Winterfold and Warwick. The team produced a combination of great passing, strong direct running, evasive running and a desire to close the opposition down, make tackles and force mistakes to remain unbeaten during the season.

U9B Rugby Festival at King’s St Alban’s
Date: Tuesday 28th November
Result: BCS won 4 and drew 1 game
Most Valued Player: Rishul Marie for his excellent tackling throughout
Report: On a cold but dry winter’s afternoon in the picturesque setting between Worcester Cathedral and Worcestershire County Cricket Ground the U9B team played some excellent rugby throughout the afternoon. There were great performances from a number of players including Richard Mahlberg-Schilling, Adam Bashir, Lemuel Adjei but in truth all played out of their skin against some of the top sides in the area. The defence was excellent, as was the support play and evasive running which made it such an enjoyable afternoon. Well done to all.

U11 C&D Girls Hockey v Winterfold
Date: Wednesday 29th November
Result: Blue Coat C 2 Winterfold 2 / Blue Coat D 0 Winterfold 5
Most Valued Player: Ritisha Baidaray & Alayna Malik grew on composure throughout the match and carried the ball well into space
Report: On a cold November afternoon, grass hockey was back in action. The pitches were very healthy for the time of year, but it made you appreciate what you have at home now. The C team went two goals up very early in the game and continued to put good pressure on Winterfold down the hill. Second half we couldn’t clear the ball from our D and conceded two goals that Winterfold did deserve for all the pressure they had. In the D team it was fairly one sided and was rotations made at half time between teams, Winterfold fielded a strong team.

U11B Rugby v RGS The Grange
Date: Wednesday 29th November
Result: BCS 40 – 20
Most Valued Player: Wilf Kane for showing a willingness to tackle and looking to pass the ball away from the contact area.
Report: Despite the cold Blue Coat showed good application and attitude to win comfortably. Blue Coat showed good handling skills and passed the ball well which allowed the more evasive runners space to run at the opposition. The highlight was a move that went the length of the pitch and resulted in a try. In addition, a number of the team attempted to tackle much larger boys. It has been encouraging to see the team develop over the term and finishing the season on a winning note.

U8D Football vs West House
Date: Thursday 30th November
On a freezing cold afternoon the BCS boys had a fantastic 3-0 win in the local derby at West House.  No need to mention individual names as everyone played their part in a real team performance.  Opposition players were closed down quickly and the side really tried to use the flanks in attack – Well done boys!
