The Music department were delighted to hear recently that several children have been accepted as members of the National Children’s Choir of Great Britain. Tilly Richardson, Emma Burns and Gracie Roberts all successfully auditioned for this most prestigious choir in October and we are delighted to celebrate their success. Sophie Reason continues as a member of NCC having joined last year.
Special mention must also be made of Max Chen and Chloe Liew who have successfully auditioned for the National Children’s Orchestra. Sophie Reason and Tristan Wong have been invited to the regional sections of the NCO this year. Congratulations one and all!
I would like to thank all the children who have taken part in nativities, carol services, concerts and recitals over the past few weeks. This is always a busy and enjoyable time for the Music Department and my thanks go also to Mrs Evans, Miss Pardoe, Miss Akehurst and Visiting Music staff who have helped in so many ways.
And finally, a date for your diaries for the holidays – on 23rd December leading Birmingham-based choir Ex Cathedra will give a special family performance of its popular Christmas Music by Candlelight: Angels, Stars & Kings. This year’s concert involves several talented young singers, including Emma Burns, Isabelle Clarkson and Emma Daniel from The Blue Coat School. Please do go along and support if you can.
