Congratulations to Amar in Year 5 and Karam in Year 2 who generously gave up birthday presents at the end of last year and instead asked friends and family members for donations towards the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Birmingham Women’s hospital. On Friday 15th December, Amar and Karam presented the Women’s Hospital with a cheque for the sum of £600. Giving to the Unit was close to their hearts, as ten years ago Amar spent some time in the Unit. The staff and resources were phenomenal and the family remain so grateful for all that they did. The boys were fortunate enough to visit the ward (albeit not all of it due to infection control restrictions) and were able to see where the money they helped to raise will be used.  The Women’s Hospital have said they hope to purchase “much-needed items such as milk fridges to store breast milk, a dishwasher for parents who are staying for long periods of time and new medical eye equipment to support the women, babies and families in their care.”
