Report: Our second gala of the Michaelmas term went underway on Friday evening against a strong Eversfield team. Our Year 3 and Year 4’s were ready to rise to the challenge and we saw excellent performances across the board. Our skills and team ethos have improved from last term, a credit to their hard work and dedication to their morning training. We finished the gala as the overall winners, taking 119 points to Eversfield’s 77. A great gala and we look forward to taking our Year 5 and Year 6’s to Eversfield in a couple of weeks!

U9B Football v RGS The Grange
Date: Tuesday 23rd January
Result: Blue Coat won
Most Valued Player: Vinay Ratti showed superb physicality and desire
Report: We played the fixture on the AstroTurf, inceasing the speed, and testing the skill set of all the players. Blue Coat were really fired up, playing with purpose and intent. Early goals pinned RGS back and we continued to demonstrate superb outcomes in the box. Vinay Ratti and Raihan Ahmed utilised their strength, whilst Lemuel Adjei had lovely feet to eliminate a defender.
Scorer: Good spread of goalscorers throughout the team.

U9A Football v RGS
Date: Tuesday 23rd January
Result: Blue Coat 3 – 2 RGS The Grange
Most Valued Player: Richard Melberg-Schilling for excellent defending
Report: On a damp and soggy pitch the U9A team managed to come from behind to beat RGS The Grange 3-2. Blue Coat started brightly with some crisp interplay leading to the opening goal for Oliver Almond. In this period the team had a number of chances to increase the lead but some excellent goal keeping kept them at bay. RGS struck back with a fantastic strike which meant the game was level at half time. RGS took the lead early in the 2nd half and applied lots of pressure but crucially they did not increase their lead. Eventually Adam Bashir managed to scored a fantastic strike to put Blue Coat level and then shortly after poked in the rebound to claim the winner. A good game that could have gone either way and where the players showed plenty of resilience to come through.

Result: Blue Coat 5 – 1 RGS The Grange
Most Valued Player: Joseph Slater
Report: The U11C team showed great character to win against RGS The Grange. Everyone played their part in a resounding win but the running of Jo Slater and Rehan Riaz, coupled with the defensive solidity offered by Hamoodi Fakir saw the team home.

U11B Football v RGS The Grange
Date: Wednesday 24th January
Result: Blue Coat 4 – 7 RGS The Grange
Most Valued Player: Anch Agrawal
Report: The U11B team put in a good dislay against RGS The Grange. The game was an end to end affair with both teams dominating at times but ultimately Blue Coat went down due to fantastic strikes from the opposition and their ability to turn pressure into goals. The boys must recognise that to score we must get the ball into the danger zone more often, and rather than dribbling as much must look to pass earlier.

U11A Football v RGS The Grange
Date: Wednesday 24th January
Result: Blue Coat 4 – 2 RGS The Grange
Most Valued Player: Michael Draper for tirelessly working in midfield and capping off his performance with a couple of goals.
Report: Blue Coat began brightly and took a deserved 4 – 0 half time lead. Blue Coats attacking play was unselfish and created a number of goal scoring opportunities. RGS responded well at the start of the second half scoring twice in quick succession. They created further goal scoring chances before Blue Coat finished strongly and could have scored more but were denied by the post and some good goalkeeping.
Scorer: Micahel Draper (2) Kairav Singh, Elias Papaioannou

U11C Netball v Bromsgrove
Date: Wednesday 24th January
Result: BCS 1-15 Bromsgrove
Most Valued Player: Alayna Malik
Report: A tough match against strong, well drilled opposition. The girls battled hard, but some very tall and active defence made it hard for Blue Coat to get the ball into our attacking D. A good learning experience in which the girls never gave up. To improve we must work hard to get in front of our defender

U11D Netball v Bromsgrove
Date: Wednesday 24th January
Result: BCS 6-4 Bromsgrove
Most Valued Player: Karolina Rarko
Report: A very competitive and exciting game of Netball. Both teams moved the ball quickly down court, driving into space and signalling for the ball. Our defence were quick to pounce on the loose ball and some excellent shooting by the Blue Coat attack helped us to gain the lead. A great game girls!

U11E Netball v Bromsgrove
Date: Wednesday 24th January
Result: BCS 5 -4 Bromsgrove
Most Valued Player: Lily Mobasher
Report: A very close game, but Blue Coat girls had the edge and determination. They played well as a team with Deyuan and Hannah working hard to block balls, then feeding them down the line at speed to give Lily and Keya lots of chances to score. Well done to all.
