It has been another busy week in the Music Department. Our Year 1 musicians took their first steps in performing on Tuesday. With a large and enthusiastic audience willing them on, the children performed with confidence and quite a few nerves too! It was lovely to see and hear so many children play; they have all made a very encouraging start to their musical journey.
At the other end of the scale (no pun intended!), our senior musicians thrilled the audience on Thursday morning in our Prelude Concert. Aimed at pupils working towards higher grade, Prelude Concerts give a performance platform to the children where musicianship, performance skills and sophistication are the watchwords. Vivace, our novice strings ensemble, opened the recital with a tuneful and spirited performance which set a very high benchmark for the other performers. What a wonderful way to start the day!
