Friday 2nd February saw the first hockey fixture for the Blue Coat boys. A mixed team of U10 and U11 played the KES U12 sides.  Using our group of 28 TED boys, we took them all to Eastern Road. The sports leaders from sixth form umpired and coached their pupils, running the afternoon very successfully. All our pupils played a round robin tournament with Aryan Massey Arora & Alexander Bryans having a superb afternoon as Goalkeepers. With fantastic facilities, Blue Coat had plenty of space to run into with matches played on half a pitch. We divided into three teams with pupils given the opportunity to play in a variety of positions. Although results didn’t quite go our way, the biggest margin of goals was only two. Michael Draper and Alexander Forty formed a good bond getting forward for their team and were very unlucky to not score. Our rock in defence was Shayan Patel. Not afraid to self pass and strike the ball forward, I was really proud of him. Hopefully this will be the first of many Blue Coat boys’ hockey fixtures!
