On Friday 9th February, three senior KES pupils: Matthew, Arun and Eduardo, visited our Y5/6 STEM (TED) session to answer some of our science-related questions.

First, the KES pupils explained the scientific method or process and emphasised that science learning is initiated by observations generating questions and that our scientific understanding continues to grow and change. They managed to weave in various references to Y5’s current Science topic of ‘Earth in Space’.  Next the KES pupils addressed our questions which ranged from ‘How do they make pens scented?’ to ‘Why is chocolate not healthy for you?’

The session was fascinating and introduced many new concepts to the children.  The KES pupils were extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and adaptable!
