Early in February, Mrs Ayub introduced the BBC 500 Words competition to the pupils in Y6; they had to write a short fictional story in no more than 500 words. She submitted almost 60 pupil entries to the optional competition. The BBC receive thousands of entries each year and of those that entered, only 5000 stories make it through to the second round. Mrs Ayub was contacted by the BBC, who informed her that two of our Blue Coat School entries have made it to the second round! Well done to Ibrahim Mahmood and Daniel Hewitson. We wish the boys the very best of luck with the remainder of the competition. Winning entries will be announced by the BBC in June 2018.
