Year 6 had a thoroughly enjoyable trip to Safeside on Friday 27th April. Here are some comments from the Year 6 pupils on their exciting day!

‘The Safeside trip was educational and at the same time made you feel self aware about your surrounding dangers. The small groups gave us more space and opportunity to learn. I did find the way they put us into real life situations really useful. The video of the burning room made the person watching the video appreciate the dangers of leaving hair dryers on. The alleyway was terrifying because once you’ve been scared you’re always looking for thing that will scare you but because you are looking for them they are not as scary when you see them! The videos they showed us were very interesting and provided us with the knowledge to keep us safe from electricity, trains and the environment. So in conclusion I found the trip inspiring and enjoyable.’

‘The Safeside trip was fantastic. The tour guides were volunteers and didn’t get paid for what they did and they were helpful, friendly and were happy to give any information they could. They had small videos to help us understand what to do in case of a fire in a bedroom and how to avoid getting into a serious situation. They told us about not going into a small alleyway and to sit either on the bottom floor on a bus or near an exit. They also included information about road safety, shopping and using ATMs. At the end they even did a quiz! It was one of the best trips that I have been on and some very helpful advice was given.’
