Last Friday we saw our first house swimming gala take place as the school hosted the Prep Intra School Finals. Four swimmers from each year group and house were selected to attend this event and gain points for their house.
Throughout the evening there were some closely fought races, with the highlight of the gala being the Year 5 25m Butterfly with Maya and Storm both finishing in joint 1st! After Friday evening’s races we had a scoresheet of St. Monica’s 71, St. George’s 79, St. Philip’s 80 and St. Margaret’s 90.
On Wednesday afternoon it was the second house swimming gala as we hosted the Year 6 House Swimming Gala. Made up of relays, each swimmer had to swim in a Freestyle and Backstroke relay. With the support of teachers and parents, everyone rose to the occasion and swam outstanding!
It was a closely fought contest with the evening finishing St. Philip’s 27, St. Margaret’s 29, St. Monica’s 30 and St George’s 34.
Overall it stands St. Monica’s 101, St. Philip’s 107, St. George’s 113 and St. Margaret’s 119. We look forward to seeing what the remaining house galas bring! Well swam everyone!
