Pre-Prep Swimming Galas

This week saw Pre-Prep displaying their swimming skills in their exciting and friendly Galas. On Tuesday, Year 2 took to the pool and showed an impressive amount of skill as they swam heats in both front crawl and backstroke. All children had progressed hugely since their Gala in Year 1 and many presented techniques that were way beyond their years. All of the children did their best and made personal achievements.

On Thursday, it was Year 1’s turn to showcase their swimming skills in their first Gala. With a mixture of nerves and excitement, all of the children displayed how confident they have become with both front crawl and backstroke. It was lovely to see big smiles on everyone’s faces as they completed their water skills display at the end of the Gala. Well done Year 1 and Year 2, you should be very proud of your achievements.

Year 4 Swimming Gala

On a warm Wednesday afternoon we hosted our third inter-house swimming gala of the term, this time for our Year 4 swimmers. A similar format to the Year 6 gala consisting of Freestyle and Backstroke relays, we also included some fun events for the children.

Going into this gala the house leader board stood 1) St Margaret’s 119 2) St George’s 113 3) St Philip’s 107 4) St Monica’s 101.

Cheered on by parents and teachers, everyone swam exceptionally, demonstrating strong performances and closely fought races! The swimming gala finished 1) St Philip’s 34 2) St George’s 30 3) St Margaret’s 29 4) St Monica’s 28. Overall the leader board is therefore 1) St Margaret’s 148 2) St George’s 143 3) St Philip’s 141 40 St Monica’s 129. We are looking forward to the Year 3 and Year 5 gala after half term!
