In Reception this week, we have been celebrating diversity as part of our ‘Real Life Stars’ topic. The children have learned about different people who face challenges and difficulties but cheerfully persevere. We thought about what it might be like to not be able-bodied and took a walk around the school grounds to look for areas which are disabled-friendly. The children learned about Braille as well as some famous Paralympians. We ended the week by creating a class book about all of our amazing gifts that we are thankful for. The Reception teachers were impressed with the children’s thoughtful contributions to class discussions and enthusiasm during this topic. Well done, Reception!
