Earlier in the year, Year 3 looked at portraits by the Italian artists – Modigliani, Arcimboldo and Leonardo da Vinci and then worked with clay to create a self portrait. Once completed, they painted it with acrylic paint, spending time colour-mixing carefully. Congratulations go to Georgina in Year 3 who entered her clay portrait into her age category of Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery’s 2018 ‘Inspire’ Competition. Out of hundreds of applicants her work has been chosen to display. This is taking place in the prestigious Bridge Gallery and will showcase work submitted by children and young people aged between 5 and 19 years old living in the West Midlands. The theme for 2018 is ‘We Heart Colour!’. The exhibition will run from 22nd July to 15th September.
