We are sure you will have noticed a few changes at Blue Coat over the summer months. The School was a hive of activity as soon as term ended, and an incredible amount has been achieved in a very short space of time.

The Year 6 children are now the proud inhabitants of a new state of the art Year 6 Hub, providing them with beautiful new classrooms and dedicated spaces especially for their year group. We hope they will enjoy using their new base during their final year at Blue Coat!

The new adventure trail on the playground has been a huge hit with both the Pre-Prep and Prep children, providing them with an additional playing area for breaktimes and lunchtimes.

Both St Margaret’s and St Monica’s underwent a much-needed refurbishment and now provide a shiny, new and welcoming area for the girls. We hope they will keep their new carpets and common rooms tidy and clean!

Mrs Walker and Mr Isherwood deserve a huge ‘thank you’ for their efforts in setting up the wonderful new outdoor classroom next to the School Garden, providing a hexagonal outdoor space for a variety of lessons and outdoor activities.

Mrs Ayub has created an inspiring and colourful new Reading area for the children in Prep, providing a dedicated area for the children to feel at home when they read.

The Sports Hall has a wonderful new floor and the redeveloped area on the top floor provides a fantastic new multi-use activity area, for Drama, Dance and Sport.

Elsewhere, floors were refurbished in the School Hall and the Pre-Prep gym, new boilers were installed in the Prep School and numerous classrooms were painted and carpeted. The Pavilion area next to the Astroturf is on track to be completed by the October half term, providing a fantastic viewing area and base for matches.

A huge thank you to the Estates team, IT team and all staff involved for all their hard work in ensuring these works were completed smoothly and ready for return of the children this week. We hope the children are enjoying their new facilities!
