Congratulations to Dylan in Year 4 who is proving himself to be a star of the future in the tennis world! Over the summer, Dylan won the U9 Warwickshire County Tournament playing one year up from his age group – a fantastic achievement. To date, Dylan has won 9 tournaments and has come runner up in 5.  Dylan also plays in the winter and summer leagues and represents his club, Sutton Coldfield, taking his club to the regional finals last winter. Congratulations, Dylan! We caught up with him to find out a bit more about his love for tennis.

What age did you start playing tennis? Age 3.

Who is your tennis idol? Roger Federer!

How many hours a week do you practise? 5 to 6 hours per week.

What about in the winter? Do you play indoors? I am very lucky that my club has indoor courts, therefore I get to train all year round at Sutton Coldfield Tennis Club.

Do you enter many competitions? I only play a few tournaments as I am only eligible to enter mini tennis events. My coach prefers me to play with real tennis balls as he believes it is better for my development (and I definitely prefer playing with real tennis balls).
