It has been a busy week in the Music Department. Miss Akehurst celebrated her birthday (mustn’t forget to mention that!) and we enjoyed our Music Scholars’ Recital on Wednesday. Our scholarship programme is really paying dividends and the standard of music making was quite exceptional. Playing one concert in the morning to the whole Prep school was quite nerve-wracking enough, so when we asked the children to perform again on Wednesday evening for invited guests, parents, Old Scholars and members of our Governing Board, you might have thought the children would be phased, but far from it! The Scholars played the second concert with flair and spirit and wowed the audience with their musicianship.
Thursday was no less busy, with our Year 6 Morning Recital. The performers played with panache and stylish musicianship, and the drummers really rocked the joint! Well done everybody.
Some of our singers and players will be entertaining the crowds at the Christmas Fayre on Saturday – do come and have a listen and support the children.
The Chapel Choir are in action this coming Sunday as they join the Cathedral Choir to sing the Advent Processional Service. All are welcome to attend, the service starts at 4.00pm in St. Philip’s Cathedral, Colmore Row. Please take your seat in good time – this service gets very busy!
Finally, I extend a warm invitation to all parents to attend the Christmas Concert on Tuesday 11th December in the School Hall. Entry is free and the concert starts at 6.00pm. See you there!
