A group of budding fundraisers from BCS have raised over £400 for Shelterbox, a UK charity that provides support and shelter to disaster-hit communities and families. The girls, who are all in years 2-5, came up with the idea of a cake, sweet and stationery sale, which they held last weekend for friends, neighbours and family. Some of the girls’ teachers got in on the act too and came along to eat cake and donate.

The idea to raise money for charity came about out of a desire to help people less fortunate than themselves and the group made a powerful short film with the help of Mr Hill that they presented in a Year 5 assembly earlier this term.

Congratulations to all of them for all their hard work and for demonstrating such good team-working, organisational and fundraising skills!
