It’s the most wonderful time of the year…and Year 1 have most certainly embraced the seasonal spirit as they have busied themselves singing, dancing and avidly rehearsing to culminate a feast of festive delights! Year 1 have been very busy over the last few weeks, learning their lines, practising dances and singing their hearts out in preparation for their Christmas performance of “Santa’s Setbacks.” The play begins outside the workshop. Unfortunately the seat of Santa’s sleigh is broken and with Christmas fast approaching, the elves are worried whether or not they will be able to fix it in time for him to deliver the presents to all the boys and girls. Meanwhile, poor old Rudolph is suffering with a really bad cold and can’t stop sneezing. Santa is very concerned as he adores Rudolph but the nurse works triumphantly to try to ensure that he will be well enough to lead Santa’s sleigh. On top of all that excitement, a blizzard begins to rage… will Santa manage to brave his way through all of the obstacles facing him? The audience were treated to dancing elves, snowflakes and snow people. The children spoke with expression, clarity and confidence as they performed their spectacular production. The children have worked really hard and impressed us with their relentless enthusiasm and determination.

Well done Year 1!
