A superb opportunity for our Blue Coat pupils to celebrate the end of term came on Sunday 16th December with a European Cup Rugby tie for Leicester Tigers v Racing 92. The Christmas atmosphere gave it that extra feel good factor, with over 20,000 supporters in attendance at Welford Road. Our pupils were able to keep their Tigers T-Shirts and lanyards as mementos from the day and they really looked the part, as you can see from the photos!
With the giant flags, we split into two groups and paraded the whole pitch before meeting at the tunnel entrance for the players to run out. Our Blue Coat Guard Of Honour stood proud, with flags waving as the two sides ran out. After this we re-joined families to watch the match. Whilst Leicester couldn’t cope with the speed and class of the Racing 92 backs, we saw plenty of tries and inspiring performances.
