On Thursday, it was a delight to welcome 8 children from Yardley Wood Primary School and 10 children from Harborne Primary for a History Day on the topic of Richard III.  The children were posed the question ‘Did Richard III kill his nephews?’, and they took part in a range of activities that enabled them to form their own judgements.  Particularly impressive was the way in which they challenged primary source material.  A mock courtroom was established at the end of the day, and, in the end, the jury had to make the decision to acquit one of the most controversial figures in history.  Miss Patel has done a brilliant job in building relations with local primary schools, and the 18 children were an absolute credit to their teachers and schools.
