U11A Football v Chad Vale Primary (H)
Result: Blue Coat 6 Chad Vale 3
Most Valued Player: Oliver Smith for excellent positioning in the box to score his three goals
Report: What a lovely way to end the week with a cracking local fixture. At half time it was tight at 1-1 with two counter attack goal from each side. However Blue Coat really turned up the speed and tenacity to go forward. Adam Bashir got himself into great positions in wide areas and provided two assists for Oliver Smith. From defence, Luke Dolan distributed well and Ay Ogunlola was as strong as every in the tackle. As the game opened up, so did the goals – but what is most pleasing is how they were scored. A real team effort behind them. Looking forward to seeing this togetherness at the ISFA tournament.
Scorer: Oliver Smith (3), Adam Bashir (2), Luke Dolan

U10C v Winterfold
Date: Monday 25th February
Result: BCS 3-2 Winterfold
Most Valued Player: Henry De Bono
Report: This was a terrific game of football to start the half term. In glorious conditions, the BCS side kept their discipline in the early stages of the game and Henry, Boyi and Bertie acted as a terrific back 3 in neutralising any threat from the opposition. It was a scrappy affair in midfield, but Gabriel and Kabir worked really hard to produce some quick counter attacks. Towards the end of the first half, one of these breakaways led to the first BCS goal, which was put away by Oliver. The side remained composed until the interval, and the introduction of Archie and Asad gave the side an injection of energy when needed. Despite playing downhill in the second half, it was Winterfold who came out with a point to prove and they scored two quick goals. It was a pivotal moment in the game, and it looked like Winterfold had the upper hand not only in terms of scoreline but also their fitness levels. However, the boys picked themselves up quickly and played some amazing football in the last 10 minutes. Keerat slid the ball past the goalkeeper after a superb through-ball from goalkeeper, Rohan, to put BCS level and then an assault on the Winterfold goal brought about a winner from Oliver. The boys were very excited, and their coach and parents even more so!
Scorer: Oliver T (2), Keerat R (1)

U9A Football Tournament
Date: Tuesday 26th February
Most Valued Player: Jai Lewis
Report: A perfect summer’s day for a Football tournament in February! As the competition started it was clear to see a wealth of talent and a high standard of Football from all schools. An early 1-0 defeat spurred the boys on and highlighted the need to be aggressive on the ball and getting first to the ball. As a result BCS went into the next game demonstrating some high quality Football, spreading the ball and taking their chances. A comfortable win against Moor Park as we put 4 goals past them. Unfortunately the winning streak didn’t continue as we again lost a tightly fought match against The Elms by just the single goal. The boys ended the day on a high as they slotted 5 goals past Moor Park with an extremely dominating performance. Overall a good squad performance but at times needed more aggression on and off the ball. The results left us 3rd in the group so unfortunately we missed out on progressing into the semi-finals.

U10A Football v Winterfold
Date: Monday 25th February
Result: BCS 5 -2 Winterfold
Most Valued Player: Oliver Almond for some fine evasion skills
Report: In what was a closer game of football than the scoreline suggests, the U10A played some excellent football to gain a well-deserved victory. Some of the passing was fantastic with the interlinking between Almond, Trevis and Bashir in the final third excellent, as was the defending of Meering and Phillips. The one area which definitely needs improving is our finishing as we missed a number of good chances and this could have cost the team as Winterfold exerted some pressure towards the end. Thankfully a late goal sealed victory.

Result: BCS 10 -1 Winterfold
Most Valued Player:
Report: The U10B team put in a commanding performance to win convincingly on Monday. Vinay and Jayden provided a solid platform at the back and played some lovely passes through the opposition lines and Raihan Ahmed was real threat up front with his power. Freddie Williams worked tirelessly both in attack and defence and Ben Carberry provided the speed and tenacity which meant there was no let up in pressure on the opposition. A great performance by all underlining how strong we are as a year group in year 5.

Report: The U8B team showed some great technical ability in a comprehensive victory against Solihull. Milo was a constant thorn up front scoring a hatrick whilst Gregg was excellent with his tenacity and determination. U8A Football v Solihull
Date: Thursday 28th February
Result: BCS 8 – 1 Solihull
Most Valued Player: James Longworth & Jackson Bennett
Report: Excellent to get the U8s underway and what potential they have shown. A real solid performance that had structure and intensity to take the game to Solihull. There were plenty of goals to discuss but it was such a team performance. Arjun Gill was relentless in his pursuit for the ball in their half. James Longworth, Remy Granger & Robert Miller supported him well through midfield. Jackson Bennett demonstrated game understanding from important positions in the centre of the pitch. Jonty Scurlock without much to do, made two agile saves in the second half.

NETBALL
U10B v Hallfield (A)
Date: Monday 4th February 2019
Result: BCS 7- 1 Hallfield
Most Valued Player: Tabitha Vlok
Report: The girls got off to a really good start and by the end of the first quarter, it was 2-0 to BCS. The girls passed around the court well, particularly in our attacking third. Amrita, Poppy and Tabitha linked especially well to create several attacking chances. In the third quarter, the girls tired and Hallfield, who came back stronger than before, capitalised on the girls passing through their opposition- they drew 1-1 in this quarter. Maysoon had some excellent interceptions and showed good vision when moving the ball on quickly. The girls listened to what they were told and came out with renewed vigour in the final quarter to win 7-1.
Scorer: Tabitha Vlok (6) Poppy Brigham (1)

U10B v Kings Hawford (A)
Date: Monday 11th February 2019
Result: BCS 0 – 8 King’s Hawford
Most Valued Player: Priyam Agarwal
Report: It was a slow start from the girls, who struggled to find space against a noticeably taller side. The opposition took advantage of this and, along with their loopy overhead passing and accurate shooting, managed to come away with a 5-0 lead at half time. After a few changes and a positive talk at half time, the girls worked tirelessly to move into space and mark the overhead passes tighter, which resulted in them only conceding 1 goal in third quarter. BCS had four shots on goal through the game, but we didn’t manage to come away with any points. Encouragingly, the girls improved throughout the game and have learnt they need to lead and relead whilst moving out to create space; Priyam was excellent at looking for the space in the court. The girls are growing every match and their determination and effort did not falted throughout the match. The girls should be proud of their team performance and use this as a platform from which to improve through training and practice.

U9A Netball v Solihull
Date: Tuesday 26th February
Result: BCS 6-0 Solihull
Most Valued Player: Caitlin Liew
Report: From the start we had a good grasp on what was needed to outwit the opposition. We had been working on defending on Monday after school and this was definitely our strong point with interceptions being made by all players especially Lucy, Zuva and Aleyah. In attack we were looking for space and moving at speed to get free with some good agility shown by Caitlin and Claire with Imogen supporting. We still need to work on our feeding into the circle and movement under the post but it is encouraging that we are now scoring more goals and Alex and Harleena and super keen to learn and do anything I ask for their team mates. I look forward to our next practice ready for our Tournament the next day.

U9C Netball v Solihull
Date: Tuesday 26th February
Result: BCS 1- 0 Solihull
Most Valued Player: Elisavet Matopoulou
Report: A lovely sunny afternoon taking four teams over to Solihull School to play Netball. The U9C team was a big squad of fourteen girls therefore, everyone played half a game. The girls were very excited as for many it was their first netball fixture for BCS. The game was very evenly matched, with the ball going end to end for most of the game, each team really fighting for the ball. Unfortunately, we was unable to score when we had the chance making it still 0-0 at the end of the third quarter. The girl’s determination meant they didn’t give up though and in the final quarter Maya McCracken was able to successfully shoot finishing the game 1-0 to BSC. The girls were overjoyed with their well-deserved victory. Well done girls, well played to each and every one of you!
Scorer: Maya McCracken (1)

U9B Netball v Solihull
Date: Tuesday 26th February
Result: BCS 8 – 2 Solihull
Most Valued Player: Khadija Kamran
Report: Although the ball travelled up and down the court our U9 team looked dominant in all areas. Our attack was able to get free into space and our defence marked their players and the ball with strong extended arms. The movement of the ball from defence to attack was swift with players being mindful not to crowd the areas. This team is working really together to listen and become better netballers which is all I can ask. Well done girls for a great win and your effort and attitude on court!
