Last Sunday, several Blue Coat pupils enjoyed a masterclass with two cricketing legends. Through our cricket activity provider, Complete Cricket, we were delighted to welcome back former England cricketer Ian Bell MBE, this time also accompanied by Stuart Broad MBE.
Stuart Broad MBE is the 14th Englishman to receive 100 Test caps, amassing 437 wickets along the way, only James Anderson has taken more wickets for the country! His performances with the ball include two Test Match hat-tricks, the only English bowler to achieve this feat, and one of the most destructive spells of pace bowling ever to be seen, taking 8-15 in the Ashes Test match at Trent Bridge in 2015.
The children were thrilled to take part in a pace bowling masterclass session in the nets and enjoyed the opportunity for a commemorative photo and autograph signing. We hope their skills have been further honed for the remainder of the season and can be put into practice in our upcoming fixtures!
