What better way to kick off our Tuesday morning than being faced with an angry mob of Anglo Saxon children, bearing their beadolēomas (swords) ready for battle!
The children travelled through time, to when the Anglo Saxons settled in Britain (circa 410 – 1066AD). Here, they looked at the dress they would have worn, how to build a luxurious Anglo Saxon bed, and the games they would have played. We then delved into battle, with the children wielding swords and heavy chainmail, before exploring the myths, legends, Gods, gore and artefacts from daily Anglo-Saxon life.
A thoroughly enjoyable day that not only enhanced the children’s learning, but made History come alive!
