Once again, our busy parents took the time out to support their child this week when they attended a ‘Writing Workshop’ on Tuesday morning. The parents of pupils in Y4 and Y5 were invited into the classrooms, following the formal presentation, which explained the strategies used to develop writing at BCS. This opportunity to work with the pupils instantly after the presentation, was well received by all – most importantly our pupils! I caught up with some beaming Y4 pupils, who shared:
“It was amazing to have our adults support us – now they know what we do in class!”
“It was nice to see my Mum in school – surprisingly, she had great ideas when helping me write interesting noun phrases!”
“My Dad can support me with my homework now, as today was educational for him too! Thank you, can we do it again?”
It is always lovely to see so many engaged children writing with adults and sharing ideas about making precise language choices. For any parents who missed the presentation or those who would like a reminder, the presentation is now available on the Parent Portal.
