This has been an exceptional week of performances for our young musicians. Our Music Scholars performed to Prep on Wednesday morning. The standard of playing was quite exceptional, with the repertoire showing each performer in their best light. The Scholars performed the concert a second time on Wednesday evening to parents and distinguished guests.

Not to be out-done, we enjoyed a Year 3 Morning Recital on Thursday. I can think of no better way to start the day than with a concert! The performers, many playing in public for the first time, showed nerves of steel and real composure as they played to their peers, teachers and parents. There was some very encouraging playing indeed and we shall look forward to hearing their progress next time the children play.

Our Probationer Choristers were made Full Choristers this morning as part of our Chapel Service. Having served their ‘apprenticeship’ since September, I am delighted to welcome the new Year 5 children into the choir. We are hard at work preparing for the Advent Processional Service in Birmingham Cathedral, where we will be joining forces with our own BCS Choral Society and the Cathedral Choir (Sunday 1 December 4.00pm – all welcome)

And finally two dates for your diary –
The Chapel Choir are singing Carols at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday 9 December between 12.00-1.00pm. Do please pop along and support the children if you are in the locale. We will be performing in the Atrium by Costa Coffee.

The Christmas Concert is on Tuesday 10 December at 6.00pm in the School Hall. All are welcome to hear our ensembles and orchestra playing a fun programme of festive music.
