Many congratulations to all of St George’s House who have so far raised an amazing total of £7,400.40 from their Charity Day in support of Children in Need. Money is still coming in from the non-uniform day last Friday.

On the Saturday following the Charity Day, sixteen boys from St George’s took part in a challenge to swim the channel. Alex, Archie, Bertie, Harry, Harry, Henry, Jai, Jenson, Lucius, Nico, Remy, Robert, Theo, Vinay, Vivek and Wilf needed to complete just under 2,000 lengths of the outdoor pool at Edgbaston Priory to replicate swimming the distance of the English Channel. On a cold November afternoon the boys in green assembled poolside ready to take on their swimathon challenge. In under two hours they had clocked up an incredible 1,886 lengths, surpassing their distance target and also smashing their fundraising target to raise £3,119 for BBC Children in Need.

A huge congratulations to the boys for braving the cold and swimming their hearts out! Thanks also to former pupil Michael Draper and elder siblings Hector Crow-Marcetic and Alex Forty for joining the team in the water and keeping them going.
