What a start to the Lent term! The U11Bs played 3 games back to back against 3 evenly split Foremarke Hall teams. First game, we created quick attacks starting from the two full backs Milo and Vinay. With a strong strike of the ball meant the bulk of the first game was played in the opposition half. Great stick control from Adam Bashir and Ali Ahmad in and around the D set up the two goals for the first game. Second game we were able to utilise the wing players more, spreading the ball to create width to the attack. This gave Oliver Almond and James Protherough more space to travel with the ball. In the third game the U11B’s battled hard, especially in the middle of the pitch. Richard Mahlberg Schilling and Alessandro Salvi took control of the ball quickly looking to link with other players successfully. Overall the boys demonstrated a strong understanding of the game and a good team performance. A great start to the Hockey season.
A – Foremarke rotated their As & Bs allowing us to play upto 20 players in their year group. Throughout the 3 periods we had the lions share of possession and countless penalty corners. There was a feel good factor as we made superb tackles, then had the composure to play forward. Zain Ahmed setting a fine example through defence and midfield. Adam Bashir demonstrated silky skills to afford himself plenty of opportunities against the goalkeeper, just needed a little more composure. Will Smallwood read the game well, made good interceptions and played forward quickly. Hari Philips had a lot of joy on the right of midfield, able to make many circle entries and win penalty corners. Looking forward to next week’s two fixtures!
