On Thursday 9th January, all of Year 5 visited Singers Hill Synagogue in the centre of Birmingham.
They have been studying Judaism in their Religious Education lessons, and the trip helped to enrich their learning. With the help of our guide, they explored both the main Synagogue and the children’s Synagogue, learning new facts along the way.
Our guide answered the many questions the children had about Jewish customs and traditions in detail. It was lovely to see all the fantastic things we have been learning during our RE lessons in real life, with the children admiring colourful stained glass windows, the Ark (where the Torah is kept) and Menorahs.
Well done to all Year 5 pupils who were a credit to the school.
